Adriano Pimenta Arquitectos is an architecture and urban design practice founded in Porto in 2007.

The studio works across architecture, housing, transport infrastructure, public buildings, urban design and interiors, developing projects from early concept through to construction. Its work is grounded in a careful reading of place, programme and materiality, with particular attention to the relationship between architecture, infrastructure and the public realm.

Adriano Pimenta graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto — FAUP — and has developed extensive experience in complex architectural and transport projects in Portugal and internationally.

The practice has been involved in major railway and metropolitan projects, including stations for Metro do Porto, the Évora High-Speed Rail Station, Flytårnet Station for the Fornebu Metro in Oslo, and proposals for the Portuguese high-speed rail network in Coimbra, Campanhã and Santo Ovídio.

Alongside transport infrastructure, the studio has designed residential, office, hospitality and public projects, combining contemporary architecture with the transformation and rehabilitation of existing buildings.

Its work is developed through close collaboration with clients, engineers, consultants, contractors, artists and other architecture practices. Each project is approached as a specific response to its context, seeking solutions that are clear, durable and capable of creating meaningful spaces for everyday life.

The studio’s work has been presented in exhibitions, publications, lectures and international competitions. Photography, drawing and visual research are also an integral part of its architectural practice.
