Metro do Porto is a major light rail network that reshaped urban mobility in the Porto metropolitan area. During the construction of its underground stations between 1999 and 2006, and as architect coordinator for Eduardo Souto de Moura, I documented the process in a powerful series of images. The work captures the scale and intensity of the engineering effort, revealing the hidden structures beneath the city. These photographs offer a rare and striking visual narrative of a transformative moment in Porto’s infrastructure history.
